Braydon Coburn
Re: Braydon Coburn
Gelinas is also 24 in a couple months and still can't stick in the lineup. He's getting to the age where he should be fully developed. I'd take Coburn over him, if I was a competitive team like COL and I'd take Gelinas if I was rebuilding like PHI. Doesn't seem to make sense having those 2 involved, but Rask for Stafford seems like it would help both teams.
Re: Braydon Coburn
Rask and Staffy doesn't work cap wise for him, otherwise it would probably be done.
Dmen develop differently. Most don't develop at 23. He's also had a 29 point season, then played for coaches who hate him.
I don't want to trade Gelinas. I don't want Coburn. It's the only way to make the deal work, mostly because he won't give me any other names that he would consider in place of Coburn for cap.

Re: Braydon Coburn
Why did the coaches hate him? Usually NHL coaches have a reason for not playing someone and it isn't personal. Dmen develop differently, but not a lot of top 4 guys aren't full time players at 24. With how low his ice time still is, he might be destined to be a bottom pair PP specialist.
Re: Braydon Coburn
These are silly arguments. He is 23 coming off a 29 point season. He's not an all star defensively and I'm not sure the transition from Deboer to loulam did him any good. They need a real coach who recognizes his talent. And for his part, he needs to start putting up points. And he does add periphs, as shown above.
Re: Braydon Coburn
It's all much adu about nothing at this point. My focus has shifted to trading Coburn for futures, so the 2-2 doesn't really interest me anymore. Doesn't really help my cap situation nor really make me better.
Re: Braydon Coburn
How it helps your roster was pointed out earlier. Stafford instantly becomes a top 4 winger on your team and lets you slide out mediocre talent like Brendan Morrow while getting an elite offensive talent dman with room to grow..
And it does help your cap situation. You save 500 k and move atleast one player on your bench who is making 4.5 mil into someone who immediately slides into your active lineup.

Re: Braydon Coburn
When r u gonna stick to a negotiation and make a deal?
Re: Braydon Coburn
My offer is there, the negotiation part is done. I've asked him multiple times if he is interested in swapping Coburn for another piece and he doesn't respond.
Re: Braydon Coburn
Ya bro hes Lucky ur such a nice guy unlike me otherwise I'd have had his head by now!
Re: Braydon Coburn
Only names we've really discussed are the 4 here. And then you offered up Mckeown which I wasn't interested in. Interested in a younger cheaper NHLer, or a prospect/pick at least that is/was a 1st rd pick.Lee wroteCOLONMy offer is there, the negotiation part is done. Re: Braydon Coburn
Mckeown should have been a 1st rounder. He's also moving to Carolina, with a much shorter route to the NHL than in LA.

Re: Braydon Coburn
as the owner of Forbort i wanted him to go in that deal, but the kings are higher on him i guess. SucksLee wroteCOLONMckeown should have been a 1st rounder. He's also moving to Carolina, with a much shorter route to the NHL than in LA.
Re: Braydon Coburn
Using the logic in this thread, I can't see why. He is 22 and has made no impact in the NHL.
Re: Braydon Coburn
I don't see the appeal in him honestly. Maybe you can convince me. Doubtful, but what's to lose? Lol!Lee wroteCOLONMckeown should have been a 1st rounder. He's also moving to Carolina, with a much shorter route to the NHL than in LA.
Re: Braydon Coburn
Not really into more long winded explanations that will mostly go ignored. If you don't like him, that's fine. I liked him enough to draft him 22 spots ahead of where he went in the NHL draft.
