You can't present evidence suggesting it is close either. They play in different leagues and plenty of players have put up spectacular junior numbers and not been stars. No one is saying Eichel isn't going to be a star. Mcdavid is just the consensus number 1 and viewed as a special player that is expected to be a generational talent.

You can actually. I agree McDavid is the better player, but the gap isn't even remotely as astronomical as some of you guys are trying to make it seem.

As for eichel. He is scoring at the same pace as a 17/18 year old that gaudreau was at 20 in H-east. And gaudreau had a future top 6 NHL center feeding him the puck. Eichel is a center and a lot bigger than gaudreau.
Gaudreau should hit 60 points in his rookie season.

Eichel also put up similar points as Kane in the ushl in the draft minus 1 year; however, I suspect the ushl has improved a fair amount over the last 8 years.

I think the difference between the 2 isn't the great. I wouldn't be surprised if eichel were to win rookie of the year next season.
