Add Rinne to those guys and i agree.
People forget how bad the preds were without Rinne and how good with Rinne (lottery team without, top team with).
it's not like Rinne is the only thing that changed in NSH between those 2 seasons lol

No, but he helped a lot. One of the worst goalie stats under hutton to the best with Rinne.
Under hutton this years team probably sneaks into the playoffs, under Rinne they dominate the west

The thing about the goalies mentioned most frequently here is that teams build around them.
Rinne- Nashville was once a defense only team relying upon him and Weber/Suter to win they have since opened things up and he's continued to shine (though the defense is still very good I'd argue they aren't a 'defensive team' like they were in the Trotz years)
Quick- Defensive team built around winning 1 goal games and relying upon Quick....however looking at how well other goalies Scrivens, Jones etc play in the same system its hard for me to say that it is Quick and not the system though obviosly Quick is still above average.
Price- Defensive team but not comparable to the LAK or NSH, the team here does rely basically upon Subban and Price to perform, which imo makes Price's play all the more impressive
Lundy- Defensive team built around Lundqvist, quick and tight checking team, similar to LAK but rather than relying on size they rely upon speed
Rask- Defensive team again sort of a mesh between NYR and LAK, though as we saw this year they most definitely aren't the same team having lost Boychuk and with Chara not playing healthy. Not a knock against the team, but Rask doesn't look nearly as good if the system in front isn't as complete as it once was, perhaps foreshadowing the LAK in a year or two now that Regher has retired and Voynov is gone.
I'm just gonna toss Varly in here as well givn KapG's comments. He plays behind a more open system like the new NSH one, and behind an awful defensive core and still puts up respectible numbers which to me suggests he, like Kyle has said is being given a raw deal here in terms of goalie valuations. Just my opinon on the debate, like I said before if you don't have an elite goalie the rest are pretty similar, though Price imo is the best of the bunch, then likely Rinne.
Edit- Actually Halak is the best and you should all pay me for him.

Excellent assessment, I'd advocate for a few other goalies, but once you're beyond the top tier ... you get a mismash for a bit with guys that will jockey up and down. What clouds all our evals is separating NHL/Talent from BBKL production here

Goalies I don't believe should be separated by BBKL/NHL performance. As a goalie, you're either good or you're not. Its not like they have perioh cats that they hit....its sv%, gaa and wins (SO are a periph I guess but there are so damn few I don't bother counting them)

SO is like a GWG bro, and should be counted because it shows that level of determination clutch and perseverance to do anything to win. Hybrid qualitative/quantitative measure

I don't know. So many shutouts are so heavily influenced by defensive unit play. I can remember plenty of times recently we have had a goalie doing everything they can do to preserve a shutout and the defence ends up hanging him out to dry late in a game. Some clearly speak to a strong goaltender, but so many times its because of a strong team. Don't really attach them to goalies determination too much but see them as a more team awards.

No Marc Andre fleury love? Lol
And lee is easily taking the bet Kyle, unless you make some solid moves/get lucky with injuries.
My top goalies right now:
Price
Lundy
Rask
Rinne
Schneider
Quick
Bobrovsky
Varlamov
Holtby
Crawford
Fleury
Luongo
As for bbkl vs NHL rankings - so much of bbkl is reliant on the team in front of the goalie. I.e. Fleury moves way up the list when in NHL terms he's a 10-20th ranked goalie.
Also love the deal for both teams. More so for chuck, but hey.

Almost a playoff team this year without Price.
