shooker wroteCOLONyou guys are crazy, Hamilton has top pairing written all over him. He has been average thus far in this tourney but he is a stud in the making. It is odd how the leaf fans in here keep insisting Hamilton isn't anything to write home about. I wonder why? :D
If he were a member of any other team he would be getting more hype from Leaf fans, I am certain of it.
thank you for at least admitting this lol.

Shiv as for your argument, you are 100% correct that the likelihood of him being a 3/4 is more likely but he most definitely has superstar potential. As for comparing him to Schenn, Luke never demonstrated anywhere near the offensive game or passing ability that Hamilton has. Luke to me was overhyped because he was steady at such a young age but imo never had number 1 potential and stated as much all along. I feel if he was in any other market he would have developed into the Robyn Regher that he should have been but still not a number 1. Not an insult to call him Robyn either, he played for a gold medal winning Canadian Olympic team which is quite and accomplishment.

Also as for the Pronger thing, he is a top 10 Dman of our generation. Those are tough shoes to fill for even current up and coming star Dmen such as PieT or Doughty. They likely won't even come close.

Stoked for the Canada/USA game tonight. I hope we bring our A game and leave Ryan Murphy on the Bench all night where he belongs.

The Pronger thing is what i've been trying to suggest --- from what i've seen he doesn't remind me of Pronger is the slightest (other than taking stupid penalties) Like i said earlier, he reminds me of a Kubina.

Also - Luke Schenn sucks, Hamilton is better now than Schenn will ever be.

what a hockey day today!

first two U20 games have been great already, second one basically decided soon, leaving room for the Spengler Cup final coming up on Eurosport in 30minutes..
with the big games, Finland-Sweden and Russia-Canada, following soon after.. it doesn't get any better than this!

P.S.
and what is great is.. the way results panned out, every one of today's games really matters :geek:

Good game overall, No one looked bad for Canada IMO.

Hamilton played his best game of the Tournament. Subban was solid, even Mark mcNeil played a solid shut down role. It was easily our best game as a team.

As much as I like my russian players here in the BBKL, I was hoping the Swiss would take them out! Too bad.

With regards to Yakupov, I've noticed that when I watch him play as well. Always trying to do it himself. Bit of a puck hog.

He's no Morgan Reilly, that's for sure.

I agree Cliff, the funny thing is that Yakupov is at his best when he uses his team-mates first, and looks to shoot second. He is a very underrated playmaker.

Was surprised Russia went away from Makarov, The game against Canada was hardly his fault, and he's been brilliant the rest of the tournament. They have two great goalies, but strange move. US was dominant, going to be a good match up vs Canada, hopefully Subban can keep up his play.

7th year in a row that Russia, USA, Canada, Sweden will sweep the medals at the u20 I believe.

Spoiler Alert Highlight to read

Gibson playing incredibly well so far, Subban can't be faulted on the first few either though. USA D got Canada running all over the place. Oullet and Murphy looking especially bad, USA speed on full display here.

Subban scouted on that 4th goal, Biddington in now playing out of his mind really impressive so far. Seth Jones and Mccabe are playing incredibly well. Canada is getting flat out out-coached, US is way more organized, Canada is running around can't deal with any of the US forecheck. Gibson is playing ridiculous, but Spott has to be the most fucking idiotic coach, RNH is on every other shift, but Morgan Rielly gets like one shift in the 2nd period in which he makes a great defensive breakup, Spott is out of ideas it seems like.

Murphy is getting absolutely owned.

WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. Canada's goal was almost waived off because the official blows the whistle early? makes no sense, horrible officiating.

Gibson has made 4-5 great saves on Strome, just robbed RNH and Hamilton in the 3rd on that powerplay. Bidington has been beyond fantastic, playing perfect hockey out there.

Overall this Canadian team got outcoached and was completely flat out there, when things went wrong Spott put it all on the RNH line just playing them every other shift, and his defense couldn't deal with the US speed or forecheck at all today. Huberdeau has been invisible all tournament, only RNH, Strome and Drouin doing anything offensively. Pretty poor game overall from Canada. Now 5-1 Murphy owned again, turning this off. Good night.

USA played great the first 2 periods, in the 3rd Gibson denied any chance for a Canada comeback.
Huberdeau sucked badly, RNH didn't, not in the 3rd that's for sure.

Seth Jones looked like the future tonight, MacKinnon had a very poor showing.
I know it's just one tournament, but right now it's hard not to say i'd be surprised if MacKinnon gets selected ahead of Jones.

Recorded games at work. Spoiled on both by my boss the instant I tell him I recorded them.

Exact same thing happened last game.
