Apparently, Franson wants too much $ as per Darren Dregger on Twitter and the Leafs are considering moving him.

As a Leaf fan that would SUCK. Do not want to lose that shot from the point. Need to find a way to keep him.

Anyone have any idea of what he wants? Can't seem to find any indication online. I would assume he's asking for 4M and the Leafs want a deal around 3M.

I hope they negotiate down to 3.5 ish. It would suck to lose Franson. I know we have Gardiner and Reilly coming up but Franson is a different kind of player.

I've read that too. I've heard he has been offered more than what Gunner got as well. Highest number I've heard offered was 3.75M. I don't know if that is true but I assume if he is a leaf next year, it will be with a price tag of 3.5+.

They will probably get a one year deal done around 3M.

i absolutely loathe this new "ive played 30 good games - now pay me" philosophy these younger players have in today's NHL.

my respect for subban skyrocketed (despite the hold out) after he took the cheap bridge contract. earn your money.

I don't blame anyone for trying to maximize their earnings. There is no guarantee that Franson ever replicates this type of performance again, he has to do what is right for himself and his family, I would do the exact same thing in his situation.

3.75 is fine. 4.5 would be way too much. I really hope it doesn't come to trading him. He is really important to the Leafs
