if youtube has taught me anything it's that russia is full of gloomy weather, fighting drunks, and car accidents. seems like a terrible place.

i also had a russian roommate in my first year of college who was the stinkiest person ive ever met. he would wear the same white t-shirt everyday and would smoke like a chimney. he would only wash it after it had turned the most disgusting shade of yellow.

and to think, I almost took a one semester teaching position there haha.

The on-paper portion/world-news relevance is a very big play. There WILL be world-class atheletes who avoid them games in protest, and that is only the case because of the media coverage the story is recieving. I would bet there are countries (atheletes) who try to compete under the LGTB flag.


Countries go to great lengths to win in the olympics, the last big soviet medal win was the 1980 Olympics...

If this is true the guy will lose a lot of fans come Olympic time. I know its Russia and not somewhere nice like Greece or Spain but how someone wouldn't want to represent their country at the biggest sporting competition in the world, I don't know.
