if a guy involved in a trade is in the minors on the other team, can he be put on the main roster of his new team without going through waivers, or does he still have to clear waivers?? I couldn't seem to find the answer.

If the player has already cleared waivers and was sent down, they do not require waivers on recall. No one requires waivers on recall, that is an old rule that is not in the new NHL CBA.

to reiterate what Lee wrote.. re-entry waivers do not exist anymore since January.

If you wanna trade for cam janssen on my team (whom cleared waivers start of season), and dress him on active following the trade, u can do so without cleaning waivers
