mine's Ryan Stanton - kid is a solid cinderella story.

toils in the minors, picked up off waiver by VAN - inexplicably makes the starting roster...

starts out playing 6-8 mins a night but has proven himself over the last 7 games. logged almost 19 minutes tonight, had a goal. 4 pts now on the year and puts up big hit and bs totals.

Tomas Plekanec is the longest serving BBKL Penguin in franchise history, along with Brooks Orpik. Both were acquired the week before the roster lock of January 9, 2012.

To PIT: Tomas Plekanec

That week of trading was huge for me. I landed Orpik, Hamonic, Bozak, Pominville, Nielsen, Brodziak, Klein, Grabovski and Plekanec all in the same week. People tell me my valuation of Plekanec is insane (and as a Leaf fan it's almost blasphemous).

But Plekanec brings something unique: he gets 50+ points, 200+ SHTOI and 800+ FOW consistently. This combo in a player is so rare, maybe 5-6 players in BBKL have it: Toews, Bergeron, Backes come to mind (Mike has all 3 LOL). I can't think of any others at the moment. The way I build my teams, that unique combo is so valuable to my team. It's also the same reason why I value Kyle Brodziak and Brandon Sutter much higher than most GMs because though they don't get as many points as Plekanec/Bergeron/Toews, they can match/come close to their totals in SHTOI and FOW.

Also like the fact that since ive been holding him he went on to smash the SEL (now SHL) record for most playoff points and most points by a foreign player in a single season last year.

It was cedrick desjardins. Picked him off waivers as one of my first moves. He was a casualty of the 50 contract limit.

Traded Saad a few years ago for him, made a big mistake, now i wont trade Clifford because of it.
