When you have a special folder on your bookmarks toolbar for "BBKL" that includes links to things like CapGeek, BBKL Schedule, Team Spreadsheets for all teams etc. and a separate folder for all other fantasy sports in one.

When you listen to the Fan590 or TSN1050 and the broadcaster says something like "What's he making? $5 million per season? $6 million?" And you know the exact cap hit, term, 2-way status and whether the player will be an RFA or UFA upon contract expiry.

When you've only been a GM for a couple of weeks and BBKL is the first thing you open in the morning when you get to work, while your accounting program is firing up.

Cheering over faceoffs is still the most true for me - I watch that like a hawk.

Opening BBKL while e-programs and schedules are firing up is also incredibly true.
When you come 1st place in almost every other friendly hockey pool and it means nothing
Because my other pools often have some BBKLers in them (Shook/Cliff/Bergs/etc) I cannot claim almost every other - but office pools are hard to even pay attention to.

I also agree in regards to media/coaches/analysts talking in rough terms about details you know specifically - dude could find his study notes here on the BBKL

I correct my friends and co-workers all the time. Sometimes I just bite my tongue because it's got to be annoying for them to listen to.

pretty much this, we have one guy in our office who's a "know it all" and i'd say 98% of the time he's way off on cap/stats/etc...

i use to correct him, but now it's just embarrasing on his part lol.
