maaaaan.

@mirtle 3m
Will have to double check math later in day, but NHL's cap could rise something like $3-million from that TV deal alone (after next season).

Good news for Leafs fans, if it rises high enough maybe they can afford to keep Kulemin, Raymond, Bolland and Reimer next season. It also makes the Bozak and Clarkson contracts look better if we see salaries rise even more this off season. Who knows maybe in a few years 5.25M for a 3rd line winger who plays tough won't seem so bad.

Money-wise, it's obviously great for the league.

No dog in the fight down here but will HNIC get it's classic theme song back?

3M is just for that TV deal doesn't include all the other revenues they are making this year. If this deal alone brings it up 3M hopefully we will see a 5-8M cap increase.

$3 million for 30 clubs over 12 years equates to a little over a billion dollars...it's a lot of money for the players.

Not that you guys care but it means RDS (french TSN) loses their rights too. Im gonna go postal if I have to listen to Sportsnet broadcasters in English calling Habs games. That will be so painful...

No more for RDS, TVA will get rights:

As part of the deal, Rogers says the CBC will continue to broadcast its iconic Hockey Night in Canada broadcast and that the TVA network in Quebec has all of the Canadian French-language multimedia rights.
