So he is out for the season. I am looking for a specific type of buyer:

1. You have to not care that he is out for the season - you should likely be a building team looking to add assets/looking to upgrade.
2. I want a roster player (W or D) + prospect/pick/both depending on what we are talking about (obviously, I'd be downgrading).

A season ending injury is a great opportunity to add a valuable upgrade to your team. In this case, I consider Dupuis a championship piece in BBKL. He literally does everything. Posts up solid numbers in like 6-7 categories and I consider a 4-category player a solid h2her.

Please do not inquire if you are going to make the "he is out for the season and hence not as valuable" argument. My mindset has changed for the last little while and I'm really not looking to win this year if it means losing trades. Plus I have waiver exempt players/IR replacements that can be used, so no issue there either.

But I'm looking at teams like FLA for example, who are aware that they likely won't make the playoffs this year but have the pieces to make it happen next year/want to add another one in Dupuis.

PM/Skype. This deal will happen as I believe there is a GM who will provide me with fair value here. First deal I like gets accepted.

I chased guys like this last year while rebuilding. I chased guys like Weiss, EJ and a couple others after they were deemed out for the year. Sure helped my rebuild as adding value at a low is the easiest/quickest way to rebuild. I don't like helping shiv but this is something I'd be all over if I wasn't depleted of depth.

I hope someone that owns their own 1st Rounder in 2014 sees this as a great opportunity though. That would be my ideal GM.

Because other GMs have made better offers..Like I said in the Gordon + Dupuis thread, a couple of deals are very close. Even if they fall apart, I'd rather wait it out (IMO an injured Dupuis > healthy Ruutu). I think one GM or another will take a short term hit on Dupuis' injury using Gordon as a replacement for a long term gain in a few month's time when the BBKL playoffs end and Dupuis is once again a super valuable h2h piece.
