NHL Gamecentre - Need opinions

Does anybody have it?

If so, do you love it, hate it or is it just "ok".

I ask, because my buddy has it (lives in Florida, so he bought it primarily for Leaf games) and he just started letting me log in if he's not using it. I fucking loved it. Watching 4 games at once while switching to others during intermissions on big nights, felt amazing.

Now, was it because it was my first time that I loved it so much? This was just on my computer and I was watching a 5th game on TSN on my TV. Will likely hook my computer up to my TV for better viewing of the 4 games.

Anyways, I've been thinking about purchasing it for the rest of the season at their discounted price (I believe it's half of what it was in September when no games had been played)) and was just wondering if anybody had it all year and whether or not it's appeal of watching upwards of 4 games at once wears off over time?

Of note, I stream an early and late game pretty much every night on shitty quality, so I am constantly watching out-of-market games anyways.

I know a site that streams every game every night im pretty sure. I mainly use it for MMA and the quality is usually pretty good. Lemme know if you want the url. I've been using it for like five years.

As for your question here, I can't really help. We have centre ice which i dont think is the same... its great Though

I have 2 streaming sites I use, but quality is shit and I want to watch multiple games at once without 500000 ads.

I quite like it, and have bought it for 4 years now I think, but with the free VLC streams (they stream slightly better than the legit GLC for me) I might not buy next season.

I'm not rich, but I'm a heavy advocate for convenience, and the amount of money which I spend on shit is directly proportional to my interest level/convenience factor. That being said, I've been paying for NHL GC for the 3rd straight year now. I have been paying also for the MLB game services for 4 years, and it is MUCH cheaper than the NHL, but it is more than impressive if you:

A) Have unlimited bandwidth (like myself)
B) Have PS3/XBOX or HDMI hook up via Laptop to TV for viewing pleasure so that you don't have to hunch your back over to watch on ur tiny laptop/phone screen

I have thoroughly enjoyed NHL GC services but I don't actually ever leave 2+ games open it's too confusing for me and the layout isn't all that great (buggy at times). I prefer to just manually switch between games quickly on my own with my ps3 controller. Once again, I don't give a fuck about spending $124 per year on this service because the quality is amazing compared to any free sites I've used over the years. When it is at a consistent 3000 kbps stream, It looks just like my HD channels on TV stations. Honestly, now that I have HD for rogers channels + with NHL GC, I have become a quality snob... you can NEVER go back to regular definition TV especially for sports if you've seen prolonged period of HDTV time... regular definition TV hurts my fucking eyes now.

Streaming technology in general have come a LONG way and I currently have the $49/month package from Rogers which is sufficient 98% of the night for viewing games with LIMITED spikes and lag (it tries to correct itself by rewinding to a segment literally 7-8 seconds from where you just watched as its way of re-buffering the feed), but I've grown to like those other stations that are available in the US because the commercials on them are so entertaining. Canadian commercials are lame.

One thing I advise anyone to do if they wanna commit to GC is that they also buy the $5/month service from the stable VPN site like unblockus, which will allow you to FREELY watch ALL NHL games on GC (including the Leafs), because I noticed that quite a few games in the Canadian regions seem to be blacked out without VPN (snet-W/TSN2 games) throughout the week.

If you have any questions or concerns talk to me.

I'd love if VLC worked but it doesn't for me and I can't be bothered to figure out why.

I use this the manual method in this post: http://www.reddit.com/r/hockey/wiki/vlc

Make sure you have VLC 2.1.0 or higher.

If you can't get it to work and are using a PC I can give you a hand remotely through TeamViewer.

I have it and love it. I travel a lot and work crazy hours so GC is the only way I get to watch hockey. The ability to rewind the game to the beginning because I got in late or even watch a game after it's over is a life saver for my lifestyle.

While I am home I also l love it. I like how you get to choose the feed you want to watch. For one, I can't handle the Detroit announcers but love watching Datsyuk. with GC I can choose to watch the either teams feed which is a luxury option I didn't have with CI.

I find the quality very good. I use an HDMI cable and plug in my laptop to the tv while watching. the picture is usually just as good as any HD channel and as long as you have a great internet connection, pretty flawless overall.

I'd suggest getting it. It is rather cheap and if you wait for a sale like I did, you can get it for almost half of what kimmer paid.

For anyone with an Android tablet, my buddy figured out a way to get gamecenter for free on your tablet. Quality is great.

How much bandwidth does streaming entire hockey games use? I don't even know how much I have (easy way to check? I live in a basement apartment and it's the landlords shit).

you need to set your phone/tablet to allow installation from third party sources, then google "cracked nhl gamecenter apk"

you'd probably pound through that pretty quick, but you can use the data monitoring app in Android to keep an eye on it.
