I figured they'd pressure him to a reasonable deal, nice speed and amazing work ethic, but the #'s are a big part of the team/line in his case, IMO.

as in too much?

if so kuels at 2.35 is a bargain but another young guy (year older) with 53 points last year isnt worth it at 2.55? Im fairly happy with this actually. like nick was saying he fits well on our team. Your argument that his stats are line based is kind of off tho, he was on so many different lines as alain likes to switch up his lines every 15 mins he played probably 25% of his time with samulesson and kesler, the rest was scattered. also the kesler line wasnt the same without him.

With the cap moving up, we should expect to see more overpaid RFA's. Case in point, the Clarke Macarthur arbitration deal.

Atlanta must have some shitty lawyers.

Cause most arbitrations hearings are pretty fair, i'm not sure how MacArthur was given that contract. I know he wont get it as a UFA.

I don't think Raymond is overpaid. 25 g is a solid #.

He is a very nice weapon to have, and is hell on dmen who have foot-speed issues... I was thinking 2-3M, specifically 2.25, however its a GREAT deal for the canucks in that I believe he's an RFA at the end of these 2 years!!!

2.55M is solid.

It's not a bad deal, or terribly overpaid, but I too was expecting arounf the 2.25. Not unlike with Kulemin.

i think it is slightly overpaid but i guess when you consider the raise in the cap and what others are getting it is only fair. What do we see as the second line?

Raymond - Kesler - Samuelsson?

Raymond - Kesler - Samuelsson?

na Samulesson plays more defensively 5v5 and gets 1st PP

Sedin - Sedin - Burrows
Raymond - Kesler - Schroeder
Oreskovich - Malhotra - Samuelsson
Glass - Rypien -Hansen

ex. Hordichuk, Perrault,Shirokov

nick your line combo of raymond kesler and schroeder is my dream for this season lol. I think he is fairly ready and would love to see him convert to a wing position, I think he is better built for a winger position.

Lol so putting Samuelsson on the third makes the Kane trade even worse...lol

So he gets reasonable TOI and #1 PP on one of the best power plays in the league? and because his 5v5 is defensive it means he doesn't pass up shots and actually does reasonably well on his other h2h stats?

Good points. Canucks look to be quite deep. They will be right up there again. Hope Kesler has another Monster season.

Solid.

It doesn't matter for them if MR's number is because of his teammates...
the team can produce is all that matters and 2.5/year is what it needs to gel it together.. ? it's a fuckin steal.

No way, I thought he was going to get 3-3.75, I heard as much on HF not long ago. Gives me hope for Fleischmann, he had about the same kind of season. His arbutration date is tomorrow and I'm dreading what he could get awarded. 3+ for sure imo.

I agree Scott...I think Flash gets the same arbitrator as McArthur and is awarded 3.75. I am real curious to see what this does to Wheeler as well. He is today. He should get around 2.25 for 2 yrs imo. But I can also see a 1 year deal being made which i actually would prefer.
