I originally went after henrique and DD with a much larger parkage that also inclused Fowler, but old Jimmy talked me back into Chara!

I think it's a rather fair deal for both teams. He gets the youth and upside, i get the stats for another drive next season.

or a top pairing Fowler who's better than every dman on your roster. And if you say i've been trying to 'dump' youre way off. I've been offered a deal by at least 10 guys for Fowler. I could have easily dumped him. I'd rather not just 'dump' a 25min 22 year old who does everything.

I wouldn't have moved them at all if the rest of the team wasn't aging and far from competitiveness. Plenty of upside to this long-term for me, good return for steve to make another title run.

Conceptually I like it.

Chara and Henrique for Schenn is murder.

I guess Chara's age is at the origin of the rape as of today. Hopefully will look better for Jim one year from now.

i was completely honest about stats. We talked about what Chara does compared to what muzzin does.

Barberio isn't even close to a useless piece of shit, it just sort of shows how limited your knowledge is when it comes to depth. Heck, macmillion almost cracked the leaf roster last season, and was one of the final cuts.

Yeah, even knowing who MacWillam, and Barbs are this is a no brainer for Steve...

Don't think Henrique is going to shoot 20% for the rest of his career either. And if you figured I was going to get equal value back for a unique, high production, aging, expensive defenceman then the standards are high. I got quality back that will help fill out a roster with solid-excellent players for more than just next year.

And if you're just interested in players 'names' in the deals, I've got one Sami Salo ready to be delivered in your direction (generally speaking).

Salo is over 19, so is of little interest to me.

You'd have gotten better returns selling the pieces separately IMO, could've gotten Schenn+Barbs (or something similar) for just Henrique if you'd pushed and kept Chara to move elsewhere.

Schenn is already more valuable than Henrique. His score on Fantrax last season was 3045 to Henrique's 3035 and that looks at their rankings in each stat. Henrique has SHTOI and Schenn has hits and the rest is fairly close. I don't know how Henrique can be >> than Schenn.

Steve is better next season because of Chara, but at 37 you have to think his stats are going to begin to decline at some point. Good trade to improve in the short term for Steve and long term for Jim.

this is word for word what Jim and i talked about.

This deal gives me a shot at a repeat, and it helps Jim in the future. Finally nice to see someone post with their head and not just look at the names in the deal.

it's almost comincal that guys call henrique better than 21 year old Schenn, when stats were identical except for hits and shtoi. Schenn kills hits and henrique shtoi.

Does fantrax take into account the team around the guys? Henrique is kinda on an island out there, and is the better player; but regardless 3045 to 3035 looks close to me, so unless you are moving Chara for Muzzin+Barbs and some Leafs cast off then there still seems to be some value missing going back to PHX.
