Big believer in accepting a deal when it is what you asked for - rather then the bidding war. Happy with this return, good talks Matt.

By far the biggest deal of my BBKL tenure and came together relatively quickly. Losing a couple personal favourites, but can't pass up a player to build my team around. Always good communication dealing with Nick and knowing what each side is looking for.

What might be interesting in this is what Nick will get for the likes of Brodeur and Reimer.

Bernier for Howard is a push...Matt gets the full Wings system including Mrazek. Gustavsson is likely going to re-sign.

Obviously Matt gets the best player but the combined stats of RNH and Kadri is an upgrade across the board other than +/-.

Seems pretty fair to me.

I don't get this deal at all from nick.

1) The reason it is so substantial in names is for the entirety of a goalie system

2) I like this deal a lot for you Matt. Very nice job.

Cannot say it was full value, as I paid more for Sid then I got despite 2 good years from him. I can however say that the decision was largely influenced by golfing with the Nuge on Saturday.

So far my take away from the comments is that I should have demanded Nurse was left in the deal. Matt if you want to make it more fair I will accept him in the deal.

Not that it matters, as we all run our own teams, but I can add to how this came about.

- I actually did want RNH & Kadri as the core of the return, and don't feel like it's that much different then what I paid - except they didn't just have good years, IMO still comparable value to Kopitar & Kane, and could each be worth more by 15 games into next season. But because of the lower value I was originally going to ask for Nurse - Matt didn't seem to want to pursue that path, and the idea of nice cap savings from the TOR goalie system kept me here. Adding Kassian got the deal done, no skin off my back on a deal of this scale.
