Thx for offer but i wouldn't pay that for where he is in his career. His 12-13 mins of ice time is nice and all, but I need someone to make an impact this season. Not doubting his upside, just not the right fit for my team for this season. I am offering the futures and picks as compensation for taking on cap.Lee wroteCOLONEric Gelinas, if I can find a way to shed some contracts.
I know but really, will he equal Garrisons stats this season? Him alone. That is how I am looking at it. I get that people are trying to buy low on Garrison, but you have to consider my position. I am in win now mode, not this guy will be a stud next or maybe 3 yrs from now so i should do it. If i had a better option on my roster than Garrison where i could make such a trade and use that backup plan and store him away, i might consider doing it. I dont atm. Maybe Ceci will be that guy, but i cant take that risk.kimmer wroteCOLONWow lol nobody knows about gelinas
No doubt Lee, he looked awesome coming in for those last few games last year and he does hold nice value going forward. I don't know...maybe im crazy. The competition he has with other young guys is also concerning. Severson and Merill have passed him and grabbed the bull by the horns. I don't see him getting out of that third pairing minutes without injury to top 4. He will still get that 2nd PP time which is nice. Would mike or Nick or Honger or Shep make such a deal at this point in there teams development?Lee wroteCOLONNot sure how he isn't an impact player. See, look at his numbers. He is on a new team, new system, new coach. I guarantee his numbers will equal his averages from the last 4 years. He is 29. I edited my post above to add my concerns with Gelinas. His value will increase in a couple years, not this year unless an injury occurs. Third pairing guy with 2nd unit PP time. Severson and Merill aren't going anywhere from 2nd pair.Lee wroteCOLONGarrison is an asset that will only decline in value while Gelinas will continue to rise.
Id love to hear from them. I cannot see Mike making this trade at this point in his teams tenure. Same with other teams wanting to compete or win this season. Not a chance in hell. How does that improve them? Even if it was 1 for 1, Garrison vs Gelinas, whoever gets Gelinas is losing out on stats this season, therefore not improving there team for a cup run.kimmer wroteCOLONYes they wud
