Thanks for the Conversations, Monk. I'm glad we could get this deal done.

I needed to move Pominville as his 32nd birthday is in a couple weeks and felt I would have a difficult time getting much return for him after that point. Also, Fontaine being 27 and only in his second season in the NHL I feel like, although he may be talented, I would be much better off with an all round 20 year old with potential like Wennberg.

Johnson seems to be the second best offensive player after Nylander in the SHL under the age of 22 years @ 19, which i like too.

Yea Matthew I really like the couple young C's you brought in with Wennberg and Reinhart, gives you a couple young gambles but they definitely have the potential to break out big for ya. And obviously Kane is your best player now. Risky giving up that 2016 1st, but only way you were able to swing this I'm sure. Yea good trade.

I am sensing that Luke considers himself a contender... and he finds it that he can't possibly keep Stamkos (7.500) + Kane (10.5) going into next year, which occpuies close to 20% of allowed cap hit spendings, which is just insane whether you're competing or not

Ya he must want to move Kane's cap before it becomes even more difficult. Still not that high on ANA's team so that pick could be valuable next year too.

I think this trade really comes down to former first rounder Wennberg vs 1st 2016 ANA pick, though Pominville at 32 could start to lose his hands anytime now.

ohhhh luke made this deal based on the fact that he believes at a shot at a lottery pick next year with it. sorta makes sense now
