So what do you think of the Jays this off-season? especially would like to hear from Josh

Donaldson for Lawrie is so far the greatest fuckin move AA has made in his last 3 years of tenureship. I never even liked the Reyes deal

Happ will do well at SafeCo, love the deal for the Jays. Healthy this guy is 15-20HR, above avg D in the corner + he's controlled for 2 more years.

Big Jays fan, but I'd say I have cautious optimism still. I like all the moves that have been made and there will still be more to come as it's rumoured they have more $ to spend. It's the right time to be going for it though, the Rays aren't very good and the Sox and Yanks are nowhere near the powerhouses they usually are.

They need a legit centre fielder... Words can't express how much a top tier CF dictate and control the flow of outfielding and opponent baserunning tendencies

They need a big bat at DH Or 1st base. EE can only fill one of tbose holes.

I think Pompey will play CF. Would like to see us get a 2B, DH and some reliever help. Wish we could land an ace pitcher the most though.

Edit: Didn't see the Saunders trade so I removed the need for a LF

Not sure that the Jays really needed another HR bat like Donaldson, the real issue is keeping Reyes healthy there imo, saw it with the Sox last year without Ellsbury that the biggest part of a teams offense is having that consistent leadoff guy who is going to be on base for your bats to drive in. Unless the Jays seriously shore up their pitching don't see them going far barring awful seasons from the rest of the division like last season. They seem to be a team that relies on HR's as opposed to a balanced offense, makes for entertaining TV and fun games but won't win a World Series like that.

...Don't see Saunders as much of an upgrade over the names they have in the outfield, and not sure giving up pitching for a fringy outfielder does much to improve the team, but the off-season is young.

I know Cabrera had the tumour issue when he was horrible, but if you want to cherry pick stats Saunders had a higher WAR over the last 2 seasons. If he is healthy I wouldn't call him fringy. They moved Happ to open up a spot for Sanchez and since Happ's 6.7M is pricey for a 5th starter with a 1ish WAR. Injuries happen and starting depth isn't great, but I'd rather see some relief pitching added at this point. Sounds like there is still a possibility Janssen could return which would help and hopefully Norris can contribute.

Give it a year and I doubt you feel that way. Hell maybe not even a year. Practically guarantee at least 1 DL stint for him. Looks good on paper, but a pretty pointless trade if you ask me.
