It's not monitored/networked no. Assuming it survives an accident they can extrapolate my speed from it, but in more mundane crashes it should help determine fault.

I know some insurers offer a low-jack type device that can monitor speed from afar. That's a bit too 1984 for me.

Didn't know those fuckin things wud be admissible in court. One can edit the videos and shit etc and very one sided favouring the owner of cam.

Lol I know a few people across the river here could have used a dashcam or some home security. Imagine waking up at 3 am to your house shaking and power out. Go outside and not a sound except your service entrance for power was missing. apparently a truck was dumping snow and didnt put the box down in time and when they drove away hooked the wires and ripped the wires from 3 houses out. With no proof the owners are stuck with the bills. City claiming it wasnt them....haha
