GWT - Week #19

Anaheim Ducks vs New York Rangers - ANA sits 16 points back of CGY for the final PO spot in the Pacific, while NYR sit 1 point above NJD in the last PO spot in the Metro. ANA has won its last 3 matches, but NYR have won their last 7.
Calgary Flames vs New Jersey Devils - In a matchup that corresponds to the ANA/NYR bout, CGY sits 16 points above ANA and NJD 1 point back of NYR. CGY recently acquired super-center Jonathon Toews, but Mr Rick Nash is having one heck of a season for the Devils too.
Edmonton Oilers vs Columbus Blue Jackets The Oilers were absolutely disgustingly humiliated last week (16-0); however, they secured the 4th overall draft position, and are now eying third. CBJ look to make it 2 in a row.
Los Angeles Kings vs Washington Capitals - WSH has been dominant the past 4 weeks. A win vs LA could help them fend off the Isles and Pens. A bad loss could see them lose the Division title.
Arizona Coyotes vs Carolina Hurricanes - Carolina has been stuck in 24th since the New Year. ARZ in 25th for 3 weeks.
San Jose Sharks vs Pittsburgh Penguins - 2nd in the Pacific and Metro Faceoff. Pitts managed to upset a hot MTL team last week. SJS lost a close match with a revitalized ANA. With a new goalie system in SJS, hopes are high.
Vancouver Canucks vs Philadelphia Flyers - VAN moved out their goalies for young players in a hope to break the top 8 picks. The Flyers moved up a spot to 27th. Phi did well against TOR last week. Acquiring actual NHL players seems to have done this team some good.
Boston Bruins vs Nashville Predators - CO-GAME OF THE WEEKNashville tossed aside division super power Minny last week on their way to 7 straight Wins. NASH is now just 12 points back of division leading Colorado. Boston is just 3 points back of Toronto in the Atlantic.
Buffalo Sabres vs Dallas Stars - Stars light stars bright, this should be a slaughter tonight. Perfectly timed matchup for the Sabres that are only 2 points from falling out of the playoffs.
Detroit Red Wings vs Colorado Avalanche - After regaining the Division lead the Avalanche GM is smugger than ever. To celebrate he invites all league GM's to this week 19 DET human sacrifice.
Florida Panthers vs New York Islanders - A good week and the Isles could contend for the Metro Division title. A bad week and they could be contending for a playoff spot.
Montreal Canadiens vs Chicago Blackhawks - Both teams were hot until this past week. Let's see who can regain form.
Ottawa Senators vs Winnipeg Jets - In some sort of a Bizzarro World, Ottawa crushed last weeks opponents, but the Jets were beaten badly. If the Sens can do it just one more time, the jets should be out of playoff contention.
Tampa Bay Lightning vs St. Louis Blues - Tampa hasn't won a match in 6 weeks. If GM Nick can't motivate his players, this is it for his playoff chances. Have some pride, newb. Stl is 8th in the west, and all signs point to that being so for the remainder of the year.
Toronto Maple Leafs vs Minnesota Wild - CO-GAME OF THE WEEK Toronto has been playing poorly for 4 straight weeks against much weaker opponents. They are finally about to feel those repercussions as BOS sits just 3 points back. Nashville is just 11 points behind Minny in the Central. The two co-matchups could have a significant impact on playoff opponents.
