Bump , we are about a month away from when it started last year.

Think a lot of these issues could start to get addressed once a CC is re-formed. Should probably look into doing that as soon as possible, so we can start making some decisions round here.

someone mentioned we should start our annual draft June 1st every year. I think that would solve this same issue if we just picked a date and went with it

I did, and yes. A static date documented in the CBA would be best.

I also agree on static dates being implemented into the new CC for major events. Whether it it is the set in stone numerical date, or based on aligning with the nth time a certain day of the week occurs in a set month. Either way would be better than what we have now with the current amount of uncertainty.

Personally I'd rather is start on a Monday, rather be outside that waiting for my pick to come up.

This would be my ideal set date as well.

We want this done before the actual draft, correct? Last year, we started Thursday, June 5...end on the 27th.

Monday, June 1 makes perfect sense to me...a few extra days to get this done early. The NHL draft is the 26th and 27th.

Completely agree with Scott, we cut it too close last year.

We can't have any over lap between the real NHL draft and our draft. It needs to either be completed before the NHL draft starts or we have start it after the NHL draft completes.

yeah, for this and other deadlines, it was said in CC for the future it would be better whenever possible to define something that doesn't need to be discussed again every other year (sigh).

I didn't mean the 5th set last year was already intended to be the date for future yrs. Rather, we should pick a (non static?) date this year that will be kept going forward (barring significant movement in the NHL draft date)

Yes. Post in the CBA and be done with it.
