Hello all you beautiful people out there. Josh and I have decided to get this part of the league going again are a ready to start receiving nominations by PM for the 2015 BBKL GM and Player awards. GM's and Players that receive a minimum of 3 nominations will make the ballot for the voting, then you will be asked to PM your single winner from each nomination bracket.

This year there will be 4 GM awards as follows. **Official names of the awards are still under evaluation, suggestions welcome in this thread, currently working on potential BBKL historical ties to awards

GM of the Year
Most Improved Team of the Year
Rookie GM of the Year
Sportsmanship Award - Best to talk trade with, general favorite around forums, think Lady Byng.

The option of additional awards will be open for the future. But we will be looking for nominations on the GM of the Year, Most Improved Team of the Year and the Sportsmanship Award.

New to the BBKL will be the player awards. We will be looking for 3 nominations for each of these categories as well.

MVP: Voted as most valuable BBKL asset of the year
Selke: Best periph category player
Rocket: Best scoring category player
Norris: Best BBKL defenseman of the year
Best goalie system: Vote on BBKL team with the best goaltenders this past year
Best Rookie: Most valuable NHL rookie in the BBKL
Playoff MVP: Voted as most valuable BBKL asset of the playoffs

The following template is provided to make your PM nominations easier to conduct. And again you will be asked to give a MAXIMUM of the 3 nominees per category. When sufficient nominations have occurred, those who have received at least 3 nominations per category will make the official voting ballot, and a new thread will be created to explain that process in more detail.

Those who came in mid-season get pushed to next year, and those who came in late last season get included in this one. So that would make the cast for this year.

Attempting to fill out all categories, but i need advice.

Question: Most improved team. Does that mean most improved active roster, or most improved active roster + prospects?

By nature its open to your own interpretation. But to me, GM of the year seems like a more all encompassing award. While most improved seems to imply tangible improvement of roster. But by no means are those set definitions.

Thanks. I'll use those. They help to define the awards a bit more clearly - like how the hart is defined as most valuable player to his team.

You can nominate up to 3 players per category. A player can be nominated for multiple categories.

We will tally the nominations, and those that get 3 or more will then advance to the voting round where you will vote for a single winner.

The GM rookie award is a good idea. Some years we might not have as many candidates.

Keep getting submissions in here guys. The player award submissions have been the most interesting so far. Interesting to see where they are the same and different.

It came up in the conversation me and Josh had. Ultimately we decided it was best to allow people to define "most valuable" their own way, whether that includes cap considerations or not.

Personally. I did not when I cast my nominations. But it's open to interpretation.

ya, it's a hard one to seperate for me. I'll have to think on it and get back to you
