I actually like Gaborik with Kopitar at that cap hit..

Before that deal with the Kings, I never thought I would bring Gaborik back.. or that I would trade Zetterberg to Shiv (who was not even in the league anymore lol)

funny how things can change, now I had Datsyuk, several other good centers, and a need for a quality winger..

Fraser has to do something for his goaltending to be first next season, imo. That is 25% of categories on a goalie that probably gets 30-35 games next season. I think the west is minnesota/nashville next season.

The way Ellis played after Luongo and Montoya went down. Combined with season Montoya had. Ellis will be the #2 there next year if nothing changes. Luongo is getting up there in age. His 70 start seasons are well behind him, Ellis should get 25 games in Florida.

Also I think a lot of my goaltender critics are either writing off Brossoit too easily or forgetting about him. Based on the season he had in the AHL, and the fantastic NHL debut he had at the end of the year. He could very well end up splitting starts with Scrivens. Hell its not out of the question he steals the job, he's looking very promising.

Getting starts doesnt necessarily mean winning categories. I wouldn't bank on any edmonton goaltender at this point in time.

Your absolutely right. Wasn't targeting you specifically, but I've had a few people in trade talks who have been thinking I'm at a point of desperation where I won't reach the 41 GP minimum next year. I disagree with that strongly.

That being said I may not be a strong candidate for goalie wins, but I feel that the starts the 2 young guns I have will play strong when they get their opportunities. And personally, I see Edmonton jumping from the shithouse to the penthouse in the west next year. Maybe an overstatement as I don't see them at the top, but I think they will be a force.

I dont think anyone in this league is going to have trouble reaching 41 games. Unless Edmonton trades both its goalies. Then Scott may have a tough time. But still, 41 once we are in-season isnt difficult.

Yea agreed on that. But I'll also say that I think those who are pencilling me ahead of Steve are out to lunch (Including him). He has definitely downgraded, but that team was far far far and away ahead of any other team in the pacific division, and I finished 5th in that division last year. Sure I've made some moves, but at this point I'd be real happy if I could get up to #2 and have the ability to upset Steve on a good week. That's all I'm looking for and at this point I still think that's being very hopeful. Josh's team is looking quite strong as well.
