Have had a few callers on him now this offseason. I know I turned the first couple of you away, as I like him quite a bit and hadn't intended to move a Center. But its the offseason so I may as well see whats out there. His numbers speak for themselves.

Seems like a more offensive version of Kruger with a bit less shtoi. Good player.

Yea he contributes across the board no real slouch anywhere. Among the top shot blocking forwards, puts up big STP on that #1 unit, real bargain of a cap hit. He's a unique BBKL piece. It's why I traded for him in the first place.

Downgrading solely to increase my winger depth is probably the least appealing framework of a deal for me to make right now. Would be a lot more appealing for a young defenseman to be coming back.

I actually don't see it as that bad, Neilsen is a very good 3rd line C, Simmonds is solid as we all know, depends if you think Gio is what he was last year long-term or if it was a career year, if Gio goes back to being a 40 point D I think this is a good deal for Fraser really.

That's basically what I'm getting at too, depends on how you view Gio. Not saying its an easy win for Fraser, but not a laugh-worthy offer if you think he'd be selling Gio at a high, definitely something to talk on if you believe thats the case.

Neilson + Simmonds is fair, you dont add Gio who was the NHLs best dman until he went down to get it done.
