GWT: Week 5

Toronto vs Nashville (League Match of the Week) - Toronto is still on top of the league. Not really any challengers this season, unless LA can get it together. Nashville has struggled early due to goaltending and dropping players for cap relief. However, the Nashville scoring can be too overwhelming in any single week, and they can take down anyone. Nashville is here to show that last yrs playoff run wasnt just a fluke, while Toronto would like to show that no one is playing in the same league as them.

Minny vs Chi (Central Division Game of the Week) - This could be a great matchup. Many considered Chicago to be league favorites coming into the season, but so far their GM hasn't been able to deliver. Perhaps taking down Division leader Minnesota, who many thought would take a step back after trying to get under the cap, will make believers of us all.

LAK vs EDM (Pacific Division Game of the Week) - Can an up and comer squad show that a slow rebuild is worth it? Probably not. But there wasn't many inter-divisional games to choose from in the Pacific.

Pittsburgh Vs NJD (Metro Division Game of the Week)
- Pittsburgh is 10th in the west. The devils need to get it going now or they are going to be left behind by the East's 10 team playoff pack.

Boston vs Ottawa (Atlantic Division Game of the Week) - Boston had to make plenty of Cap moves this off-season. Many GMs had them falling a bit, but no one had them on the outside of the playoff picture looking in. Boston currently sits 9th in the East (a mere 1 point behind florida). In contrast, not many counted on Ottawa being climbing the monkey tree (as they were down-right terrible last season), but they are sitting in 5th overall, and have just gained some much needed value from a lower monkey on that tree. It will be interesting to see if this Ottawa team can turn that pick into some tangible assets, and perhaps contend for a top spot in the east this season.

Dallas vs Detroit (Re-match of last yrs McDavid Sweepstakes) - Both teams have slightly transformed their rosters since last season. Detroit has added some heavy hitters in Subban, Vanek, and Smith :D , while Dallas is now awash in young talent. After early season success Detroit has begun to slow down, and Dallas is still in the leagues basement. Who will come out on top in this Titanic matchup, and who will sink to the ocean floor where they belong?

Also, EDM crushing all its match-ups.

Bruins will be ok. Not used to losing so much but i have had some injuries that kinda hurt when you have no depth. Couture, Thompson and some scratches with Stewart and missing Dekeyser and Tarasenko a few games also hurt. Look forward to an improvement.

what the heck does this mean LOL

i made it pretty clear i was restocking this year and going with youth. I'd argue the rest of the league should get it together. Some how i'm 3rd in league standings with a team full of kids.

Your kids are all proven and aren't rookies other than Virtanen/Lindberg your team is good and also young.

Steve your team was so ridiculously far ahead it would've been real tough to roll back far enough to not still be at the top of the west

But I'm not trying to "get it going".

41 hits for Gudas and Polak this week is more than 7 teams have total.

Thrilled to announce Jiri Hudler recorded his first hit of the year! I believe he bumped into someone when he wasn't paying attention.
