but value is missing in the wholeness of the system... which is tough

I think bishop is worth the Florida system. Luongo is a little long in the tooth, and the rest of the system is pretty blah.

I've seen this movie before with Brodeur. He was elite for a couple of seasons before he plummeted. Luongo is literally a 2 year buy.

I think all of the other goalies and the security of knowing everytime Bishop misses time you aren't screwed for that week is worth something. For a rebuilding team moving away from Luongo probably makes sense, but that is currently one of the best systems.

Not having complete goalie systems continues to be insanity. It's a ticking time bomb.


The idea of getting a better goalie/on a better team is to safely have more reliable goalie stats, but if an injury to the starter or backup stealing GP results in a total loss of goalie states, the safety in better # you just added is wasted.

Not really.

So i pay a whole bunch for safer goalie #, and then the goalie i paid for goes down... suddenly I'm down the goalie stats, and the asset I paid for said #.


meanwhile the system i lost would still have some #, at least a chance for them, and is probably on a rebuilding team ... so it's just a matter of patience.

The problem with this argument is Luongo is 4th overall on Fantrax and Bishop is 12th so adding Bishop isn't safer goalie #s. The value is whether the extra Florida goalies that right now don't seem to have a future starter are worth more or less than Bishop since he is younger.
