After taking over the "C" patch from the departed D Zdeno Chara who's now in Columbus to aid in their hopeful late stretch playoff hunt, W Jeff Skinner accepts the responsibility as one of the older of the young core, but at a ripe age of 23 just breaking into his prime stating he wishes to leave his concussed past behind him. "We have youth movement going currently underway. Our hot headed Asian GM Dr. Paul Kim oversees this and it's a good thing. He's full of passion and shows great compassion. He wants to truly change the culture of this club. I don't have much way of experience in leadership role, but Dr. Kim has encouraged me to embrace my new role as he entrusted us that change is coming sooner rather than later with substance", Skinner states.

After their recent string of events that sent C Tyler Bozak, W Oscar Lindberg, D Patrick Wiercioch and W Joonas Donskoi packing and labeled by GM Dr. Paul Kim as "cancerous" and "unproductive to our club's well-being", seen today has made another move that ships D Brooks Orpik "A" out to the land that gave birth to the Mighty Ducks. "This was a long time coming. I couldn't wait to deal him so that I can give that "A" patch to our developing youngsters who wants to lead, like Jake (Virtanen)", stated GM Dr. Paul Kim. He has further elaborated on Orpik's unwillingness to cooperate in faster and productive recovery process from a nagging injury that sidelined him effectively from week 3 of the regular season. "Work ethic is key and what drives our coaching staff to do their jobs properly. It is hard to work with 'dead weights' of the locker room. Truly a sad phenomenon as we expected great things from Brooks from last year's contributions. He has lost his passion with our core".

Carolina GM Dr. Paul Kim went further and moved one of their veterans W Alexandre Burrows to bring in a fresh former UMass-Amherst's 21 year-old rookie in W Frank Vatrano, who already posted his first NHL hat trick with the previous club. "He'll get his shot up in the bigs soon. We just need him to play a few games down in AHL to determine his conditioning and coachability, as nobody is guaranteed an NHL spot without fair assessment", Kim stated. Kim also added a 2nd round pick in this year's draft, which further suggests they are going more draft-focus than ever done before in the entire history of the franchise.

Rumour is that veteran D Dan Hamhuis is slowly starting to regain his strength from a broken face and will rejoin his team soon. However reports indicate his attitude with the team's rebuild approach was nothing short of negativity. The rearguard has brought upon complaints after complaints and Kim isn't afraid to ship him out for reasonable futures + cap dump.
