Buffalo Offseason

Going to be tough to keep my team together. Raises kick in for Savard, Gibson, Kadri, Plekanec.

Andersen, Mackinnon, Polak and Gudbranson all need new contracts and will get raises.

Lupul is the obvious candidate to move and could be had cheap for a team with cap space needing some GP (insert obligatory you can't get GP from the IR joke)

MacKinnon
Crosby
Hall
Getzlaf
Plekanec
Markov
Savard
Kane
Perreault

These are my big contracts, but as I am in win now mode an offer of Gelinas + 1st for Savard for example wouldn't be of interest (sorry Lee just an easy example). I'm looking to add a similar player for cheaper and I have 2nds, 3rds and some quality prospects I would add for a better and cheaper player. Good chance none of these guys move, but doesn't hurt to explore in the offseason.

Not looking for PMs of "what do you want for Player X?" I want cheap productive players with an add on either side if needed, but I'm not looking to make a huge downgrade to add futures.

You can't get GP with Bone-itis

Hanzal (3.1M) for another C ... not pleks.

Neal makes 5 million

Braun - 3.8

Doesn't Hanzal have the boneitis? Other Cs are too valuable unless it was part of some sort of bigger deal.

I'm hearing Patches and Gally are pushing hard for you to trade for Markov.

patches and Galy need Therrien fired first.

Hanzal plays consistently, just a band-aid boy. Doesn't lose seasons to fashion modelling.

Hanzal + Schenn + Braun + Neal for Getzlaf + Clifford + Perreault + Markov + Benn + 2nd + prospect

no thanks, much prefer my side (said every GM ever). No interest in 4 of those players tbh!

I like Jordie Benn, if only to reduce confusion reviewing game summaries.

Let me think about it a bit. I don't really need another player but that's a reasonable price (even if he's sitting a few games in the payoffs...)

Had an offer of a pick in the 90s for Benn. First offer between 50-75 I'll take. People are often short D and with Goligoski and Russell UFA and Jokipakka traded there is a good chance Benn will see games again next year coming off seasons of 64, 73 and 78 GP.

Lupul and Benn gone, but still could use a few more million in cap space.

MacKinnon
Crosby
Hall
Getzlaf
Plekanec
Markov
Savard
Kane
Perreault

Open to ideas, but not looking to get raped to save cap. Looking for a deal that benefits both parties, willing to downgrade and gain picks/prospects. Any of my Cs require a C in return.
