I have cold feet on a deal for Eric Staal.

1) I love the player
2) His next contract will be cheaper
3) I doubt his downturn this season is repeated
4) return is a young dman without much ceiling + a boom/bust prospect who had an excellent post draft season.

The deal is framed really well, just scared of the future of the young dman.

Get yours offers in, I'll weigh them against the current offer and make a decision.

Still think that Gelinas and nyr 1st 2017 is a good return.

I'd think it would be tough to move him before you know where's going to play next...even if that means waiting until after July 1.
