For Sale: Older yet Productive D-men

Real exciting stuff here. If you need to bolster your blue-line. Looking to get younger. Less productive, younger NHLers, picks and prospects are the targets. Public or PM.
1) Dan Hamhuis (33) - UFA, expected contract around current (4.5 M), plays top 4 minutes, PP/SHTOI, 20 pts, 90 hits/130 blks. Hard not to like
2) Jason Garrison (31) - 4.6 M for this season and next. Top 4 on Tampa, PP & SHTOi. Bounce-back candidate for offense this year. 100 hits/100 blks. Very similar to Hamhuis
3) Nick Shultz (33) - 2.25 M for 1 more year. 80 hits/170 blks/200 SHTOI
4) Michal Rozsival (37) - UFA, old as shit. If he re-signs (he'll be cheap), decent offensive numbers per game and decent hits/blks. For a late pick.
5) Andrew Ference (37) - I think he's dead... but if he isn't, may play somewhere if bought out (3.25M for 1 more season). For a late pick.
6) David Schlemko (29) - UFA, not that old, but thought I would include. Break out year with nice offensive stats.

Your Andrew Ference write up is my favorite.

lol well aside from Rielly, Niskanen, Slavin and arguably hamhuis... my defence is pretty laughable. Gotta keep it light, maybe someone pays for a laugh

I wouldn't mind schultz but have concerns about playing time next season. Maybe I should aim more toward garrison?

No thanks, not young enough to make up for the lack of production.

Where's the concern. Every team needs a plug who can kill penalties and block shots on the PK. He's locked in for top 6.

Makes sense to move him since I've traded my past two banner players.

Hockey-wise, he's dead. It doesn't sound like he's ever going to play again.

This is true. Most teams have those guys, but Philly has so many up and coming stud dmen I'm concerned schultz may be one of those guys on the outside. Casper may know better, and I'm probably wrong.

I think he's got the next two years full time with the flyers (or elsewhere in the NHL) on this contract... after that, who knows.

Well, he has 1 year left, so there is that.
