PIT/TBL - cap management

To PIT:
Bobby Ryan
To TBL:
Jay Beagle
2017 1st Rounder (WPG)
I'll miss Bobby. Always loved his dangles and strong 2-way game. But the goalie deals and cap pinch have added up to having to move him on. Frustrating lack of value for good, sub-30 year old players.

Could have chosen CAR or WPG. Typically I would pick CAR, but don't like betting against Henrik Lundqvist.

Well, you may have me tricked again, however the roster is shaping up okay, and Henrik Lundqvist is beast. I thought you were building a winger in the ADHL too, but then get stuck with guys like Radulov...

I feel like advertising Ryan was about to be moved could have generated a better deal as this is a pretty awful return.

I was clearly raped when I traded this pick a couple months back.

Should have shopped him. I would have offered up a nice package for BR.

Same thought occurred to me. But then I don't think that this is the correct value of the pick. Nick is likely too busy to figure out cap slowly and so went the quick route so that he doesn't have to worry about it all summer. I've almost done that 3-4 times this off season so I understand.

Tried finding a few smaller deals, most of the talks were extremely low.
