With Hampus dicking around with his contract and Ryan Murphy injured, Trotman being sent down and Gustafsson falling in a black hole. I find myself looking for some D. Must be on an roster for opening night.
Offering a 2nd round pick

Also willing to pay more for a quality, non depth dman.

why would anyone give you a waiver exempt D that makes his NHL team starting roster for a 2nd?
if he's waiver exempt they don't need to move him to make room in the starting roster anyway..

Getting value while you can. Not all of these guys are sticking with their roster for more than a few games and will go back to being worthless. I can't image a 24 year old dman not in the NHL is worth a whole lot. Certainly not a 2nd. I'm not expecting that stud 20 year old fresh out of Junior.

Clendening made NYR, and is expected to get pp time on the team. On hf lots of the fans have him in top 4. Scored 4 points in preseason.

Clendening is in the midst of a battle for a back-end spot on the Rangers' blue line, The Journal News reports.
Analysis: Clendening, Brady Skjei and Dylan McIlrath are fighting for two spots -- the last one on the third pairing and the seventh defenseman. Clendening has shown impressive offensive potential in the AHL before, but the 23-year-old has to win a roster spot and then navigate his way into a bigger role before fantasy owners need to pay him much mind.
Interested if he makes it.

Andrew MacDonald is available if you don't find anyone that's waiver exempt

Maybe interested but that's a lot of cap for what will end up being a depth position.

Ya, I get it. Just an option if nothing else surfaces.

Clendening seems indeed like the perfect profile for this

He's already been taken off, but he's no better than Trotman or Gustafsson if he's not in the NHL.

I would be pretty surprised if he doesn't make it. Has had a really good camp and preseason.

Nakladal signing in Carolina reduces my need for a dman, wouldn't mind adding one still.
