At the start of the season I thought Larkin and/or S.Aho might become Centers along the season but now that doesn't seem the case, and on top of that Eller has been sucking hard.. so I've been rarely dressing 5 C so far.

it's not like I can't dress 5 C as it is, it's a matter of getting someone who is worth dressing more than the 5th best option at C I already have (which may change any given week depending on # of games to be played). So Grant is irrelevant for the purposes of this thread.

He's already developed a Crosby level of arrogance about him. He should probably worry more about winning games your up by two goals and less about petty trash talk on the ice. Probably the most hilarious thing said about that last night was Kevin Weekes talking about McDavid was ready to drop the gloves. He was never going to drop em with Manning and it's easy to talk when you have Lucic following you around holding your pocket.

Last year Connor showed a lot of class by saying accidents happen, if Manning is a loser who says he did it intentionally, why should Connor defend that again? being the guy that hurt the next 18 year old super star? cool. Glad he's in the league.


Some scrub like Manning has no business trash talking McDavid, sticking him, or fighting him; if he feels entitled to he has created the reason why Lucic is worth so much to Edmonton. I would have preferred someone like Hendricks took it upon themselves to go at Ghost or Provorov as in my opinion, going back at the scrub is meaningless - retaliating in kind is a more effective deterrent.

If you think that Manning said he intentionally tried to injure McDavid then you are dumber than shit. McDavid is a superstar, what is he doing chirping a nobody like Manning in the first place? Oh bc Lucic has is dick in his hand. Go enjoy your 2 points, celebrate with your teammates, and you know don't get undressed by another nobody like Bellemare. You know since he is classy and all.

But a quick way to see you've lost an argument is when you're insulting the other person (in this case a fellow member of a fantasy hockey league) rather than responding to the discussion.

I think it's silly that anyone cares whether or not Manning dropped the mitts, but I would wager the stars on the Flyers would care if some scrubs on the other team took liberties on them in response. It's a race to the bottom but it starts with the first offender. I love the competitiveness, but don't have time for the intent to injure BS.

Classy and a poor defensive play seem to me to be mutually exclusive.

If...if...if. It's only an insult if you truly believe it happened in the manner McDavid described it. Manning might be a pest, but he is not stupid either. Connor has no business chirping Manning either if he had no intention of dropping the mitts either. He clearly sought out Manning and appeared to be trying to goad Manning into a fight with Lucic or one of Edmonton's other tough guys. Either handle your business or shut up and score goals like you are supposed to. He simply looked and acted like a spoiled privlaged brat that night.

Lucic for manning is a pretty good trade for philly
