Trade Cycles

If you have time to kill and want to go back and re-trace some of your trades up to now...I figure I'd start a thread since my trades have been talked about quite a bit.

Based on my 3 major trades from this offseason (traded the 1st overall (Auston Matthews) to Toronto, Sam Bennett & 2016 3rd Rounder (MON) to Washington and P.K. Subban & 2016 2nd Rounder (CAR) to Anaheim), this is total cycle up to now:
Assets Traded:
Sam Bennett
Kenney Morrison
P.K. Subban
2016 1st Rounder (DET) (Player Selected: Austin Matthews)
2016 2nd Rounder (CAR) (Player Selected: Rasmus Asplund)
2016 3rd Rounder (MON) (Player Selected: Mitchell Mattson)
2016 4th Rounder (MON) (Player Selected: Hudson Elynuik)
2017 6th Rounder (DET)
2018 1st Rounder (DET)
2018 2nd Rounder (DET)
Assets Acquired (Currently Owned):
Cole Bardreau
Justin Braun
Brian Dumoulin
Christian Folin
Jason Garrison
Adin Hill
Anders Lee
Evgeni Malkin
Drew Stafford
Vincent Trocheck
Patrick Wiercioch
2016 1st Rounder (NSH) (Player Selected: Riley Tufte)
2016 3rd Rounder (PIT) (Player Selected: Trent Frederic)
2017 2nd Rounder (WAS)
2017 3rd Rounder (CAR)
2017 4th Rounder (SJ)
2018 5th Rounder (WAS)

I end up with my top 2 centers (Malkin and Trocheck), my top goal-scoring winger (Lee) and I've added 5 out of my top 7 defensemen. Tufte and Frederic were drafted in the 1st round of the NHL draft.

If I stood pat, I end up with Matthews as my #1 center. I would've taken Matthews over Laine at #1. Matt Stajan probably would've been my #2 center. Out of my top 6 on defense...Subban, Methot and Sbisa would've been the only ones getting significant playing time. Bennett would currently be my top scorer on the wing. I'd probably be near dead last again and I don't own my 2017 1st round pick.

I meant to receive Bennett in the beginning

Essentially it was Bennett, J.T. Brown, Ian Cole and Nick Ebert for Noah Hanifin (my 1st in 2015).

I would probably add that to the whole cycle then, if you would have taken hanifin. Pretty significant

This.

Not pissed, but you had all the leverage and should have got Malkin cheaper IMO. Not like Mik had to be worried about helping out a rival and he could have taken one asset less then he received and people still would have thought it was a good deal for him.

I doubt Scott takes Hanafin there, it was a bad pick I remember thinking at the time since he seemed like he was just going to be a really steady NHL D and not excel in any BBKL stats. Marner and Strome were the obvious picks at 3rd.

Considering who was taken...that's what I'm going by. Bottom line, it wasn't McDavid or Eichel. That was the obvious gamble of that trade. I lucked out with the lottery.

that was an unnecessary risk taken
