Montreal Re-tooling for the future

I know Im not going to win now so looking to downgrade good head to head players into younger players, prospects and picks. If I'm moving a full-time NHLer I need a full-time NHLer back at the very least. Will consider taking on someone at the end of their career as a filler if the prospects Im getting are that good and close to NHL ready. D for D. Otherwise I can move forwards for whatever.
Zach Parise
Lee Stempniak
Troy Brouwer
Jannik Hansen
Lauri Korpikoski
Scottie Upshall (will accept futures)
Alexei Emelin
Josh Gorges
Yohann Auvitu (will accept futures)
Also looking to move out the following prospects for picks:
Justin Dowling (9GP last year)
Quinton Howden (5GP last year)
Buddy Robinson (4GP last year)
Beck Malenstyn

So weird how our best teams seem to always go into rebuilds. When I get to be a top 10 Team I'll cling on as long as possible.

It's a daunting task when you look at Toronto, Buffalo, LA King, Nashville, and Minnesota rosters. You can only take so many early playoff exits before saying enough is enough.

Join the club, Chuck. Only Mik, Steve and Mike don't need to do this.

I'm sure he'd trade McDavid off for 6 1st rounders and wind up with #1 overall again.

If any other guys in the Atlantic want a drop back a bit...this guy will be more than happy to take your spot.

I think this is the result of the league "rebuilding". There is now actually a pretty full corp of good GMs. To magically get better and stay there without building a good crop of youngsters and assets is no longer sustainable.
Will is making the move this year, I suspect a few others (EDM, maybe me) will start making moves next year. Maybe you Matt?

I'm quite a few years away unless I somehow win the draft lottery next year. My prospect pool isn't very good.

haha I think this is the first year there are multiple teams legitimately trying to be poor. Will be interesting to see what comes of it.
