Number of reasons. The biggest being that Gibson is injury prone and Miller is about as good a backup as you can get. If Gibson were to get injured it puts him in a bad spot. I'd say this is more than fair for his own piece of mind.

Did I want to? Definitely not, I added 875K cap and lost a decent prospect.

I did it not because Gibson is injury prone, but because I had no starter for BBKL playoffs and got lucky I didn't need good goalie stats. The peace of mind knowing I will have a starter for the next 2 years was worth the small add. I should have just tried to get him from Scott for Hutton if I was smart.

solid for matt.. i believe miller will play more games than gibson and miller is still decent at his age.

I think Scott should have dealt Miller to Matt for Hutton +, then would probably got Lack while saving at least part of that +
