My name is John. Im from Toronto so you can figure I'm a leafs fan.
Iv been watching hockey prettymuch all my life, hope to school you all sooner than you would expect.
you can expect a very active GM.
I havnt been able to see the league yet but this forum looks very cool and Im excited to get started

is there an app for my phone I should get? never been in a fantrax league Im currently in a 50$ Yahoo League and I'm the commish of a 50$ ESPN Keeper League nothing like this. but still fun. this league looks more to something i was expecting when creating my ESPN League. too bad most of my friends wernt interested in a Dynasty type deal,

There is a fantrax app if you want it. I prefer the old desktop view even on my phone.

Yah I just use the desktop view on fantrax, it works fast enough.

This league has got to be the closest thing you can get to being a real GM. The only thing we don't do is negotiate contracts.

i typed in fantrax on my phone but nothing came up. ill prob just go onto the website on my phone and create an Icon on my screen or whatever. so how do I get in? I guess waiting on the commish to send the invite?

Well, at the moment it is still between you and the other guy about to join bbkl for who gets the team. The other can go on the waiting list if he would like. Once the gm has been chosen he will be added to fantrax and Google docs and given instructions and a "trade buddy" for a smooth transition.

so how does this work anyways? when a players contract comes to an end can you resign them? or do they go back to draft?
how many rounds in the draft do we get each season?

The entry draft is the same length as the NHL entry draft. It happens before the NHL does their draft over about a 3 week period. You are able to trade your picks 2 years ahead (so currently the 2018 and 2019 draft picks rounds 1-7 are available to trade), however the team you wish to gm (chicago) is someone depleted of entry picks.

We also have a waiver draft in September for non entry draft eligible players coming from Europe and college. This is 2 rounds.

You are also able to sign players until January 1st who have NHL contracts and aren't eligible for the entry draft anymore. For example, someone like Steve Bernier. All players after January 1st are saved for next year's waiver draft in e following September.
