dunno how I feel about this deal.

FLA gets a good goalie, CHI adds a good-ish D and has another goalie to figure out how to move.

Pretty cheap for Rinne, but confident he wasn't getting offered anything better based on how long this took. Adding a goalie who should put up terrible stats is a sneaky good tanking move too.

I like it, makes sense for both, considering the tanked value of older goalies Chicago did about the best they could

I had one other offer of a first round pick - which (with Rinne) would have been in the 25-30 range, a fringe forward and a nobody prospect.

I like the value here more as it actually adds long-term cap to my team (always needed) and gives me bodies for GP. DK is probably Detroit's 2nd best d-man right now so he'll see plenty of minutes. Should have some pretty good value here shortly which I can hopefully use to get some additional value back.

Time will tell if this was worth it or not. At the very least, I help protect my first round pick from GP penalties, Rinne goes to a better team and my team gets a little bit better (read:worse) for the upcoming year.
