Wicked-nice deal guys. Very comparable players.
Props to shiv for demonstrating exactly how easy it is to adjust for positional concerns -> and we'd be giving 2 weeks notice!!!

I disagree, Marleau is coming off a career year, and Lecavalier is coming off of a down year, yet there stats are comparable, if not slighlty in the favour of Lecavalier. Marleau has been none to disapear from one season to the next, it wouldn't surprise me if it happened again, only this time, the second line center position wont be there waiting for him, thats Pavelski's spot now.
That said, Shiv is shedding some significant salary (around 1 mill) and potentially avoiding an issue with Vinny's knee.

i agree kareem. i told matt this exactly before we made the trade. my rationale for making it:
1) positional requirements without risking sacrificing too much offence
2) marleaus peripheries. hes a SOLID lw even if he puts up 70 points because of fow from the lw + shtoi
3) i shed salary.

Very interesting. I believe Shiv won this deal but it's more fair then anything. Like he said he save some money and need more help on the wing. Plus Marleau plays on a great team and could end up playing on the 1st line wich is money in the bank.
THe only thing is that Vinny could top off at 100 wich is unlickely but could allways happen. But Marleau top pts getter is 90 pts. But I don't see Marleau dropping off more to 70 pts wich I see Vinny doing worst for is worst case scenario.
Vinny will have a lesser role since Stamkos but I predict Vinny getting arround 73 pts with more hits then Marleau.
Marleau will finish the season at arround 78 pts. So Marleau win slitely in my book.

I had Marleau last season and LOVED him. I am going to send a message to my buddy that works on Lecavalier in the offseason and see what his true status is now. He is the one who old me last year that his shoulder was fucked when no one else really knew or could explain his drop in numbers. He was right. His range of motion was so limited he could barely take a slapshot. That is my only fear for Vinny. Ask Steve, He had traded for Vinny in another keeper league we are in and i told him that before season started so he traded hm and was very thankful he did as the info i had was very reliable. I loved being right for once
