Slightly prefer Florida's side cuz he's getting the more proven player who's a center, but shep needed to cut cap and that kase contract could be amazing the next couple of years.

I don't the old GM for this team could have made this kind of move. I like it.

Kase isn't anything special, but is valuable at his contract and that Hayes contract is an eye sore. Seems like a trade that makes sense for both teams.

this will probably come down to Kase's health along the rest of his nice contract

I'm definitely higher than most on Kase, but having him at $2.6 Million for two years will be a nice number to see if he develops into the 30-goal scorer he should be — and can stay healthy.

Was a quick trade to put together, though losing a centre was a tough one.

His points may even go up playing with some of the jets elite wingers. I don't think you have anything to worry about with Hayes. Solid pickup.

Hayes produces across the board still, so even for a larger contract he's valuable.

He was a top player in NYR and WIN though, I'm not sure he's going to get the same ice/opportunity in PHI- you won the deal be happy!

When has Hayes ever been a 60 pt player? Lol! That said 50 is a reasonable expectation given he's the 2nd line center considering Patrick can't be trusted in that role.

It's not an albatross, but there is no value in the contract and overpaid by at least 500k

That said, Shep wins. Kase is easily the best piece in this deal given his upside+contract.

He just put up 55 points in 71 games. 60 doesn't seem like a stretch given he was on pace for 64...

Point is he's never done it. Last year was a career season for him. He's not going to get pp1 time and he's the 2nd line center. A lot would need to go right for him to hit 60.
