Waiver Eligibility Rules
kyuss wroteCOLONSkaters will need to have played max 120 NHL regular season games AND to have yet to turn 26 as of October 1st to be waiver exempt throughout the starting BBKL season.
Goalies will need to have played max 60 NHL regular season games AND to have yet to turn 26 as of October 1st to be waiver exempt throughout the starting BBKL season.

However, an exception is made for players who have yet to play a single NHL game. Those players will be exempt to waivers even if already 26 yrs old.

In bold what's new for the upcoming season.
For example, this would have made S.Moses and Kemppainen (both drafted in the 2015 BBKL Waiver draft) exempt for their first NHL season, like they were indeed this season for the NHL.

Waiver Claim Rules
* Teams can make only one successful waiver claim per 24 hour period.
* Teams can't place claims on their own waived players.
* Successful claims move team to the bottom of the priority list.
* Per the new CBA, players that clear waivers and are assigned to a minor league team DON'T have to clear re-entry waivers.

Please use these formats when using the waiver transaction process:

When claiming a player that has been placed on waivers by another team: X team places a waiver claim on Y player
When claiming an unowned free agent that is signed to an NHL contract: X team signs Y player as a free agent
When releasing an unsigned player: X team releases Y player
When sending a player to the minors that must clear waivers: X team places Y player on waivers with the intentions of assigning him to the minors
When recalling a player from the minors that must clear waivers: X team places Y player on waivers with the intention of recalling him from the minors

*NOTE* All waiver transactions (waiving and claiming) will be conducted in this thread. The "Waiver Activity" thread is a record-keeping thread of all waiver transactions.

In-season drops will be done in a separate thread.

DON'T FORGET!!!!!!

(from League Announcements Thread)

Also, going forward, CC has decided that when a GM puts a claim on a player on waivers, he MUST also show his total number of contracts in the post for the waived player. If he does not do this, the waiver claim will be null and void.

priority order should be the pre-lottery draft order with BUF at the bottom, like last year: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=15156

No it's correct, it's based on final regular season standings and I was 1st in the standings in the above link.

Not to further muddy up this thread but 2017-18 was based on standings...I put points in () next to the team. Mike was the top regular season team and had 31st priority.

viewtopic.php?f=89&t=14605

Regular season standings based on points appears to be the way we've done it.

I believe NHL does it based on standings as well. That way if you finished 15th got hot and made the conference finals you are still a middle of the order waiver team and not right at the end.
