I'm not sure if this is the correct thread to post in but I'm newly registered on the site and I was referred to this league by Dave from the IFFHL (International Fun Fantasy Hockey League). I'm not sure but I assume Dave is in this league as well.In any event, I read thru your CBA and I was very impressed with how seriously the league is structured and the emphasis on knowing the rules and being an active member of the league, it all sounds fantastic. I'd love to be a part of the league if there is an opportunity to do so; I don't really care what shape the team is that I takeover unless I can't meet the starts limits and get booted anyway for that....that wouldn't be very good. Otherwise, I'm totally game. I know Dave reasonably well from the other league, in which I have missed the play-offs once in 6 years and also won the Cup two years ago, mainly on the back of drafting well over the years, though certainly not always. I'm not a huge trader because I always try to find win-win deals, I'm never looking to scalp someone. As an aside, and this is just my opinion, the Frank that you referred to earlier in this thread is in my other league and I have to say that he is a thoroughly unpleasant guy to deal with. He's not a bad GM at all but the constant really poor trade offers and subsequent pressure to make a counter are very accurate depictions of his behavior; it is really not worthy of what this league seems to be, in my humble opinion. Anyway, a little about myself:
Name: John Schaeffer
Marital Status: Married 22 years, 3 kids(all boys), ages 17, 16, 13
Hometown: New York, NY
Current Residence: San Francisco, CA
Occupation: Portfolio Manager (Equities)
Favorite NHL Team: NY Rangers, Adopted Team: San Jose Sharks
Favorite NHL Player: Brian Leetch and Peter Forsberg and Vladimir Konstantinov
Favorite NHL Film: 7 part 1972 Summit Series Documentary, Slapshot, Miracle
Worst 1st round draft choice: 2010 Brandon Gormley
Best 1st Round Draft Pick: Other than McDavid, was Filip Forsberg
Best Sleeper Pick: 2012 Esa Lindell (5th Round pick)
Favorite Prospect for the 2020 draft: Hendrix Lapierre
So that's a start and I'm happy to answer any questions you might have. If you've already filled the spot or have someone else in mind, it's all good. I would just ask that you keep me in mind for future turn-over, if applicable.
Cheers all

I suggest maybe posting this in a new thread in general or admin discussion to start. maybe Scott can migrate these posts (starting from John's intro and onwards) over to a new thread

Re: Stepping down
Hello all and thanks for the warm welcome. Dave, I was born in 1965, since your username is Dave1959 I assume you are 6 years older, either way we are both old as dirt.
Can someone point me in the right direction on a couple of things:
What franchise am I taking over? It sounded like there might be more than one that is open so let me know which one I am supposed to takeover or if I need to choose between two?
An invitation to the Fantrax site so I can register there as well.
Is there anything I am missing to get started?
Anyway, thanks again guys, I am excited to be part of the league and looking forward to the competition.
Cheers
John

We don't actually know if he's getting the team yet. Hold your horses. Multiple candidates.
