Is anybody in a league with contracts and UFA stuff (I know you are, Mik).

Are there any sites out there that can function with this for a dynasty league?

Thanks!

lol
like probably most of us are in more than 2 or 3 at least. it's not just mik lol. times have changed. bbkl is like the grandfather of this type (most simplified in terms of structure)

they mostly all use fantrax... but we all have top of the line google sheet excel coding to organize this stuff. we don't actually keep FA stuff on track on a sports platform like fantrax..

ask foofnik here and see what we work with. it all starts from this massive database of players and info relevant for FA organization

btw that's a tits avatar

Other than CBS, Fantrax is the only other site I've used for leagues like this. ESPN and Yahoo are better for a non-contract keeper or re-draft leagues.

I haven't bothered to look at other sites...Fantrax does enough for what we need it to do. It really depends on what kind of league you want.

FanTrax allows you to sign players to contracts and dollar value and run some sort of UFA and player signing system? I love FanTrax so that's fine.

I'm looking for a site that has the ability to keep track of all of this stuff. We won't have a commish with the time to track it all on the side.

Track what exactly? I'm in one league that has a group of 2 or 3 that organize the free agent auctions but they don't have a good method to conduct that other that emails or league message boards. I wish they posted stuff on format we all could view like a Google sheets.

This is hypothetical:

So say we have a team cap of $200, we have an inaugural auction draft. We can assign 1 player a 5 year deal, 2 players 4 years, 3 at 3, 4 at 2 and unlimited to one year deals.

You pick somebody off FA you have to give them a dollar figure and a term.

So I want say, fantrax, to keep track of Crosby being signed for $40 for 3 years. Stuff like that. And it keeps track of all custom salaries and contract lengths.

I think a lot of that has to be done manually. I was in a baseball league on CBS that migrated to Fantrax. We'd do a similar cap as you're talking about. We started the league with an auction of every player to set the initial contracts of players.

When we did free agency in the following years, you bid on a player by dollar amount and term. We'd just use the league forum on Fantrax where you'd create a thread for each player being bid. You just have the teams post their bids open to the public. After 24 hours of the last bid, the bidding was closed.

The winning bid would be the contract amount and we'd have $5 increases each year of the deal. I think that all this info has to be entered manually. You can add custom columns to the players but you can at least track salary and salary cap for future years.

I don't know if you can have a FAAB budget tied in with your salary cap. If you had a $200 cap and your roster is at $185, your FAAB would $15. If you bid $5 on a player, you get the player and you cap moves to $190 and you have $10 in FAAB left. A lot of the FAAB tracking was all done with spreadsheets I think.

FT doesn't track years but if only a few players per team were signed for more than 1 year you could add a custom column and only worry about tracking those players. Bidding will need to be done in a forum I believe, I don't think FT can handle free agent bids (also never really looked into it), but maybe a Yahoo or ESPN have that option since all of these already have something similar for fantasy football already. FT does have a small forum where the player bids can be done if you need to go that route and bypass a forum like this site.

Sheets could manage all of this as well though and would be the most customizable for everything outside of player scoring.

I'm looking at it and it looks like you can assign years and buyout stuff and everything?

It seems like it has everything under the paid settings.

Thanks for the insights though. Might require more digging.

This shows you can assign length.
