Like it for TB, Gardiner needs to find his game again, I thought he'd be much better in CAR than he has been.

Probably a good thing for monk and Gardiner, tbh. More defensive opportunities outside of carolina.

It could be just another one of those waiver moves where the team wants flexibility with the taxi squad. In fairness, I forgot Gardiner played for the Hurricanes.
