Damn. Nice haul.

Probably solidifies koomz a playoff spot. Currently 6 teams Super close fighting over spots 5-10 in our conference: Stl, Ana, Col, Cgy, Arz, Minny.

Could see an arms race.

Kyle does fantastic here. Easily the most a goalie has gotten since... ?Price was traded. Varly is putting up great stats and should for the next 3-5 years provided health. Is he going to be exposed this year to Seattle?

Nonetheless, good move and great asset management by Kyle.

I think New York would be dumb to expose him. I think holtby ends up in Seattle tbh

Does Sorokin need to be protected?

Thet didn’t really cross my mind lol. Good question that I unfortunately don’t know the answer to!

Looked it up - looks like since no 2 years in NHL/AHL he's OK. Wasn't sure if his time in Russia would count against him.

Issue is do they have a goalie they can expose...

And if they think Sorokin is the future, may be better off losing Varly to Seattle and keeping all their position players.

They can expose Cory Schneider? Maybe.

Considering the kind of draft that is shaping up to be, and especially after the ugly decision to run the draft this July no matter what, I think this is still a pretty good deal for STL.

So far it's the second season in a row where Holtby is not looking good.

Yah I dont need holtby to be good next year. I prefer he isn’t tbh as I’ll be going for one last top 3 pick.

Mik had a solid offer in too

So far that’s it hahaha. Still in the hunt for more...

I think I have 10 picks in the first two rounds, 12-13 in first 3

Lee had 8 1sts in 2014. Wonder if anyone has beat that...

Good for you Kyle but also Nick adds a quality goalie...the proverbial win-win.

As good as Varlamov has been, still feels like an overpay for a short term solution.

A lot of this depends on Holtby too but he's looked washed up the last year or more

This was my struggle prior to making the deal. I at least give myself a punchers chance in a matchup now.
