1st to acquire a teams best exposed piece before the expansion draft
This makes sense for a team where the top exposed player is MUCH better than the next exposed player. As it essentially is the 1st for the shitty player.

Gotta make this deal quick boys time is running out
An example would be Edmonton trading gallagher for the 1st and losing McNabb in expansion. Since he's losing gallagher anyway, it's like he traded McNabb for a 1st rounder, which is obviously a value win for him.
