6 weeks in and we have some fairly big surprises in BBKL:

Ottawa is 3rd in the East, and only 2 points behind 2nd place Tampa Bay. If he can hold onto this playoff position, it will be the first time making the playoffs (at least since i joined the league in 2014)...Seattle is currently sitting in the 7th playoff spot in the West, and LAK in 6th. Altogether this season is far closer than in the past, with no true runaway team for the league lead.

Not gonna lie my team has been pretty bad and it has me kinda shocked Chicago is so far behind in the standings. What’s going on over there?! I’ve got a lot of catching up to do for Wright lol. I expected Vegas to be pretty bad lol. Oh well….bottom 3 finish is a must

Poor goaltending (relying on Ottawa will do that) and my rookies all hit the sophmore slump. A very poor start to the year. Oh well.

Not necessarily a bad thing though since you weren’t really looking to make a push for playoffs this season, were you? The more top end talent you can accumulate the next couple years the better

I think you probably want to see some progression from your younger players at some point, otherwise; what are you really rebuilding for?

Not as bad as long as it's only this year. I can accept the sophomore slump. If I don't see progress next year, then I may have to start worrying.

Like Casper said - you want to see progress.

I think the early season schedule is definitely producing some weird results for sure. Just a quick look at the stats, Ottawa is 16th oa in skater stats, 12th in goaltending, and 16th overall, but 3rd in the east.

Meanwhile, Nashville is 9th in skater stats 31st in goaltending, and 17th oa and not in a playoff position.

Part of that is the West is a lot stronger than the East imo especially with 7 of the 8 top skating teams currently residing in the West, but some interesting results nonetheless.

Seems like there are a lot more competitive teams this year. Seems like every week 3 of my 4 opponents are power houses. This is the first week I feel confident I'll win most of the matchups.

yes that would be ideal. I don’t think a sample size of 18 games or so is enough to say the youngsters have stalled in their development tho. I’d it’s happening again next year that would be a time to worry
