I continue to work on getting younger and accumulate better prospects as well as load up on picks for 2011's draft. I'm dangerously close to the salary floor after moving Kovalev's large salary and getting the modest contract of Bickell in return. Yes, I continue to drop down the ladder of the league but as of a couple weeks ago, I looked at my team and looked at the best of the best and the distance was far too great and to just simply compete for 8th place and get housed in the first round isn't that rewarding. I'm warming up to the idea of rebuilding. With guys like Kovalev and Knuble...the contending teams are going to get far better use out of them in what could be their last if not second to last year than I would as a middle of the road team.

by that i mean compared to his role in previous years. he seems to have a bottom six role locked up and will stick this year rather than bounce up and down.

I'd take Devante Smith Pelley alone over that pkg Shiv...Good deal for Detroit, he has made some moronic moves in the past, and I wasn't a fan of the Brian Campbell deal, but there is nothing wrong with the deal he made above, in fact I would have done the same.

I agree, I feel I gave a nice package for an aging veteren but have improved my active lineup quite a bit, kinda funny Roman Ondrej is in both deals.

Comparing the deal I made with Shiv and this deal...yeah, I think I came out a bit ahead. Yea me!
