so far I think he played 1 game out of 4 and was a healthy scratch in the other 3. That seems highly unusual for a top 4 defenseman

The Blue Jackets are pretty deep on defense...almost would think they'd be rotating guys in and out of the lineup because they've 7 guys capable of being everyday guys but there's only 6 spots. They fortified their organizational depth with drafting Jiricek and Mateychuk. They already showed they seem to value Peeke after signed him to an extension.
