Adam Larsson is worth more than everything in this deal combined.

uh, you could've traded schultz and gotten at least a somewhat respectable return and still have been in the running for larsson.

instead....

Lee--I would've sent you a certain defenseman you've been asking for plus a 2nd round pick this year for Schultz. Just sayin...

Really liking Buffalo's defense after this move!

And none of those deals would have included a goaltender.

Probably shouldn't have traded Khabibulin, eh?

He is old. I'm rebuilding. I'll take Dan Sexton, Stephan Della-Rovere, 2012 2nd (Detroit) over him any day. People ask me about those 2 players on a daily basis ;)

I don't understand why you don't just bite the bullet and trade for a starter, as opposed to selling the farm to acquire a bunch of mediocre back ups. It's nonsensical.

Selling the farm for back ups?

Turco and Khabibulin out
Sexton, Rovere, 2012 2nd, CHI 1st(2012), Dana Tyrell, Michael Stone in

Sami Salo, 2012 1st (CHI), 2012 2nd TOR out
Josh harding, john mitchell in

This is where it should have ended, then Harding got put on the IR for the whole year.

Claimed Gerber, sent to AHL
Added Hannu Toivonen, who was in the running for the CHI back up job, demoted to AHL as well as recchi for Comrie
Added jose theodore for a 3rd and a meh prospect
Claimed Nathan Lawson
traded schultz for a good back up in calgary , a good young Dman and a 2nd round pick

Where did I sell the farm? Giving up 3rd round picks? Saying I sold the farm for Harding is stupid. He is 27 years old and projected to be a starter next year.

My goaltending system right now:

Theo: backup in Minny
Karlsson: back up in Calgary (26 years old)
Tyson Sexsmith: 4th string G in SJ
Ben Scrivens: 3rd/4th 5th string in Toronto, depending on the day
Cedrick Desjardins: 3rd string in Tampa
Jussi Rynnas: 3rd/4th 5th string in Toronto, depending on the day
Vesa Toskala: lol
Hannu Toivonen: 3rd string in chicago
Nathan Lawson: 3rd string in new york

My goal for this year is to get through it, get a top 3 pick, and build on that. all of my goalies, except theo and toskala, are waiver free and have potential for next year.

If you believed as you stated ealier that Schultz has such great value why did you trade him for a fucking backup? Shultz + Morin + something gets you a starter....maybe not King Henrick but a starter.

I'd rather hold on to Morin and hope for the best from my farm system.

Fair enough man. I just know if I was selling a piece like shultz I would want someting coming back that would really help me. That's my thought behind it but everyone is entitled to their own thoughts and tactics behind trades.

The pieces coming back do help me. I had Martin Gerber as my other goalie, who is 4th on Edmonton's depth chart. Falk is 21 years old and made the Wild. The 2nd round pick should be mid 2nd in a deep draft. I know what I gave up in Schultz. I didn't want to. I told him as much on MSN.

As I mentioned before, my pick should be in the area of Larsson, Couturier. Either of those kids is worth everything that went down in this trade.
